Grayson County Sheriff: “We need somebody that’s going to stand alongside us, not tear us down. And Mitch McConnell is the man to do that.”

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Team Mitch today released a new ad highlighting the support Senator Mitch McConnell has from Kentucky law enforcement officials. In “Alongside Us,” Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins, Henderson County Sheriff Ed Brady, and Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower share how Senator McConnell is a constant ally to law enforcement as they work to protect Kentucky communities.

“Kentucky law enforcement officials work tirelessly to protect our communities, and in turn, they trust Senator McConnell to work for them in the Senate. While left-wing extremists call to defund the police, Senator McConnell is stopping that idea in its tracks and making clear that Kentucky law enforcement officials will always enjoy his respect and support as they carry out their mission to protect and serve Kentuckians,” said McConnell Senate Committee campaign manager Kevin Golden.

NORMAN CHAFFINS: I’ve been in law enforcement for 26 years, and right now is the most dangerous time to be a police officer.

ED BRADY: When I hear people talking about defunding the police, I think it’s dangerous for America.

BRETT HIGHTOWER: We need additional funding right now to assist us with the challenges we have within our community.

ED BRADY: Police officers need more support, not less.

NORMAN CHAFFINS: I support Senator McConnell because he supports all law enforcement officers out there that are doing the right thing. We need somebody that’s going to stand alongside us, not tear us down. And Mitch McConnell is the man to do that.

BRETT HIGHTOWER: With the civil unrest right now and the pandemic that is transpiring, we need people who can reach across the aisle and bring people together, and that’s Mitch McConnell.

ED BRADY: I trust Mitch McConnell because he’s proven to me over the years he’s a leader, and he will come through for my community.

NORMAN CHAFFINS: If he says he’s going to do something, he’s going to do it. He’s honest. He’s trustworthy.

BRETT HIGHTOWER: He is a person that understands the needs across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and our nation.

NORMAN CHAFFINS: Just as the citizens that I serve put trusted me to make tough decisions, I trust Mitch McConnell to make decisions for Kentucky.

MITCH MCCONNELL: I’m Mitch McConnell and I approve this message.
