LEXINGTON – Team Mitch today released the following background information on Alison Lundergan Grimes admitting her vote for Hillary Clinton while hiding her vote for Barack Obama.

Grimes Said She Voted For Hillary Clinton

Grimes Refused To Say That She Voted For Barack Obama, Citing The “Sanctity” Of The Ballot Box, Yet In 2008 She Said She Voted For Hilary Clinton. “Grimes again refused to say whether she voted for Obama in 2008 or 2012, saying that as the state's chief elections officer, she has a duty to protect the "sanctity" of the ballot box and Americans' right to a secret ballot. That is a change from when Grimes told the show Ballot Bomb, a KET program set to air later this month, that she voted for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary.” (Sam Youngman, “Mitch McConnell and Alison Lundergan Grimes take their talking points face to face,” Herald-Leader, 10/13/14)

Grimes: “I Got A Chance Though To Vote For Secretary Clinton In 2008”. “Grimes said she turned 18 in 1996, "unfortunately" after President Bill Clinton's election. "I had hoped to be able to vote for him. I got a chance though to vote for Secretary (Hillary) Clinton in 2008," she said.”(Jack Brammer, Sam Youngman, “McConnell says he voted for Nixon; criticizes Grimes for not saying if she voted for Obama,” Herald-Leader, 10/10/14)

Obama Delegate Alison Lundergan Grimes Refuses To Say She Voted For Obama

When Asked By The Courier-Journal, Grimes Refused To Say Four Times If She Voted For Obama. “U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes found herself under attack from the right, left and the middle on Friday following an editorial board interview with The Courier-Journal in which she four times refused to say if she voted for President Barack Obama.” (Joe Gerth, “Grimes' non-answer on Obama vote ridiculed,” Courier-Journal, 10/10/14)

After Courier-Journal Appearance, Grimes Still Refuses To Say If She Voted For Barack Obama. “I believe that all Kentuckians understand the sanctity of the ballot box. It's not about who I voted for 2 years ago or back in '08. It's about what I will vote for when we go to Washington, D.C. (“Grimes, McConnell Attend Logan Co. Tobacco and Heritage Festival,” WBKO, 10/11/14)
