LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — McConnell Senate Committee campaign manager Kevin Golden released the following statement on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks:

“As we remember the fateful day nineteen years ago and pay our respects to those who lost their lives that day, we are also reminded of our commitment to each other as Americans. Regardless of our politics, we are bound together by the greatest country this world has ever known and our mutual success as a nation.

“We respect Amy McGrath’s military service, but her politics are extreme and divisive. She has become  so viciously partisan that she simply cannot see why comparing President Trump’s election to 9/11 is abhorrent and wrong. Not only has she failed to apologize for these comments, she stands by them as an accurate reflection of her feelings the day after the election in 2016. This is an example of someone whose worldview has become so extreme she has no business running for Senate to represent the great people of Kentucky.”
